How To Cook Long Grain Rice

 Continue our series on rice by providing recipes, information and more, including long-grain rice, which is one of the most sought-after varieties. In the same way as mediumshort and medium grain rices, long-grain rice is classified according to its size. Grains are slender and usually four or five times longer than they are wide. Grains are approximately 7mm long and can be cooked to separate, loose, or soft grains. Long-grain rice is mostly grown in Northern India and Bangladesh, Thailand, Thailand, Indonesia, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt and Syria Jordan, Yemen and parts of China. There are numerous varieties of best basmati rice, including aromatic jasmine, upland and basmati. The origin of long-grain rice plays a role in its flavor, aroma, and texture.Not only is long-grain rice different from medium- and short-grain rice in terms dimensions, texture and taste however, it is additionally processed differently. 

Long-grain rice kernels are more fragile than the smaller varieties and require a more careful handling. In order to mill the rice a series discs and rollers are employed to remove the outer and inner husks. This ensures that there are no broken white grains. Long-grain rice must be kept in plastic containers or placed in burlap bags or Jute bags that have hard plastic fibers in the event of export. Long-grain rice can be more costly to purchase because of its intensive processing. Some countries export long-grain high quality Pakistani rice for a higher cost and then import less-quality, but potentially less-expensive, rice to feed their population. It is worth the expense. Long-grain rice is used in many iconic dishes across many cuisines.
