 Original Indian Basmati Rice: Basmati is among the most sought-after best organic rice suppliers variety found in the world. It is because of its unique characteristics. Basmati has a subtle aroma that is a pleasant scent that permeates the air while it cooks. The grains also grow to twice its original length. It is the most pure and original varieties are grown naturally, and irrigated by Himalayan Rivers, and cultivated traditionally since centuries. India is home to various states in the North that have been producing Basmati rice for centuries and these states are Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand. 

Only Basmati rice produced in Jammu, Kashmir, Haryana and Himachal is eligible for the Geographic Indication (GI). A long time of research and development have gone into creating hybrid strains that produce greater yields. Basmati 386 and Basmati 217 are the two original basmati varieties. The Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Delhi has produced hybrids that yielded more than twice the amount of Pusa Basmati range or the Sugandha varieties. While they're not strictly grown in accordance with traditional practices however, these hybrids as well as other original strains still qualify as Basmati Rice. In all there are 29 varieties of top long grain rice grown in the Northern regions of India. In Haryana 50% of the place is getting used for the cultivation of basmati rice. Karnal, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, and Ambala are mainly the rice developing areas in Haryana wherein Karnal region is commonly called the bowl of rice in India that offers the best quality of Haryana basmati rice.
